The fluids inside your vehicle are the second line of defense in preventative maintenance. Engine and transmission oil are the easiest because everywhere we go to service our vehicle there are constant reminders to check or change them. But what about the rest of the fluids your car uses?
Almost every car has the following fluid:
- Antifreeze/Engine Coolant
- Brake Fluid
- Clutch Fluid – Manual transmissions only.
- Differential Fluid
- Engine Oil
- Power Steering Fluid – Some newer vehicle have electric power steering eliminating this.
- Transmission Oil
At Joman Auto Service we use OEM or equivalent fluids at all times. We also recommend considering changing all non motor/transmission fluids every 100,000 miles. Doing so will ensure that the vehicles components last much longer than normally anticipated. Fluids over time break down from extreme temperatures and at times, operating conditions. This chemical break down of fluid causes it’s composition to change leading to brake fade over times, seals deteriorating sooner, and the vehicle operation to feel slightly “sloppy”. Stop in and have use evaluate your vehicle’s fluids for free.
