Initial Problem - Customer notices there is a sweet smell int he vehicle when the heat is turned on.

Recommendation - We suspected that the heater core was in need or replacement. We verified all other heating and cooling components within the vehicle to look for other possible problems and found none initially.

What we learned from this - Heater core issues in Ford trucks of this time frame are common if the customer does not flush the cooling system frequently. In this case the customer is generally good with vehicle maintenance, just some bad luck.

Outcome - Heater core was in fact defective. We replaced it and flushed the cooling system so we could put in all new antifreeze.
