1996 Mazda Miata - Frame Stiffening

About the car:

  • Year - 1996
  • Make - Mazda
  • Model - Miata
  • SubModel - Base
  • Engine - 1.8 Liter 4 Cylinder

Initial Request - Customer uses this car as a weekend car and occaisonally likes to visit the track. He has a few small suspension upgrades and would like to make the frame of the car slightly more rigid for better performance on the track.

Recommendation - Flyinmiata.com makes what they call, "Frog Arms". They are neon green powdercoated brackets that bolt right up to the existing frame of the Miata underneath the front fenders. This upgrade diminished the frame flex of the vehicle, basically tightening the frame and allowing for harder cornering at the track.

What we learned from this - Interesting upgrade that functions as intended.

Outcome - Customer was extremely pleased with the performance upgrade to the car.
