Initial Problem - Climate control speeds are erratic. Most of the lower speeds are not working.

Diagnosis & Recommendation - Normally erratic or varying climate control fan speeds lead to a faulty blower motor resistor. However in this case, the erratic speeds were not consistent. We decided to do some research and found that this is a common problem on the newer Jeep climate control switches and many of them have been replaced because of this. We opted instead to open the existing climate control switch to try and find the issue at hand. We found a contact problem with the fan speed knob. We used some common sense and sand paper and were able to rememdy the issue without repalcing the unit. A fix that many people at home can do if they are mechanically inclined.

Outcome - Getting the position of the contacts right took a couple of tries, but acquiring the experience was worth the time spent dismantling the part.
