About the car:
- Year - 2007
- Make - Nissan
- Model - Pathfinder
- Engine - 4.0 Liter 6 Cylinder
Initial Problem - Customer drove in with a whining complaint while the vehicle was being driven.
Diagnosis & Recommendation - Whining noises normally relate to the transmission, however in this case there was a technical bulletin that referred to this exact problem. The tech bulletin advised that the timing chains and timing chain guides needed to be replaced in order for the issue to be resolved. We also recommended replacing the water pump, thermostat, tensioner, idler and serpentine belt while we had front of the engine removed.
Outcome - After replacing the aforementioned parts the vehicle was now back to a normal with no whining sounds coming from the vehicle while driving.
